Over the May holiday weekend, 12 children and 1 leader from the Lighthouse attended the North East Scotland Christian Youth Camp‘s Junior Weekend at Faskally House, near Pitlochry.
On being asked what their highlight of the weekend was, one Lighthouse camper responded, “making new friends.”
They joined over 50 other youngsters from all over the north-east to participate in team games, sports, challenges and day-trips, including a walk into Pitlochry and a dander round Blair Drummond Safari Park.
The weekend also provided an opportunity to participate in action songs and quizzes, memorise Bible verses, and learn about the Biblical character, Moses, and how God used him to free the Israelites from slavery in Egypt (Exodus 1-14).
The Lighthouse Support Centre has facilitated children linked with the project to attend CYC camps for the past 8 years. It is hoped that many of these children will also attend the week-long camp in the summer.
